“If one reads enough books one has a fighting chance. Or better, one’s chances of survival increase with each book one reads.”
— Sherman Alexie “I am simply a ‘book drunkard.’ Books have the same irresistible temptation for me that liquor has for its devotee. I cannot withstand them.” — L.M. Montgomery |
I was born and raised in a tropical country where drinking coconuts and eating fried bananas were the norm. I lived there for 16 years until my family which consists of my parents and two younger sisters decided to move to a country where two seasons became four.
In high school, writing and reading was not my thing. I would rather play sports than read some old book in the library or write a really bad essay. My love for reading started when my friends recommended me to read Twilight . Mind you, they were total Twi-hards. Four books later, I finally realized how reading broaden my imagination and my vocabulary. I started to understand words that my parents and class mates did not expect me to know. I became happy and my reading became an addiction. Not only did I gain new fictional friends but, also, I became smart! I am still not fond of essay writing no matter what. Now that I am in college, I am learning to balance my time between writing my novels to studying the mind of a criminal. How do I do it, you ask? Well, I will tell you once I figured it out myself.
My first novel, Out For Blood, was inspired by all the movies I've watched and all the books that I've read. I am still currently in the process of writing and publishing it, chapter by chapter, via Wattpad.
I am happy that I am finally doing what I feel I should have been doing a long time ago (even though writing and I are not best of friends). Now that I am finally writing my own, I hope every single reader will enjoy!
